"The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials." Chinese proverb
What an excellent quote to describe my very concept of "EXFOLIATE YOUR LIFE". We encounter tremendous friction on a daily basis that sometimes can be extremely rough to bare. However, without it, we would not see that brilliant glow from the new life which had room to grow once the old one had been shed.
People are like that as well. Some people come into our lives and exit just as fast as they enter without rhyme or reason. In most cases, we may never know or understand the ultimate purpose for the loss of relationship whether it be by choice or not. I believe that people are meant to cross our paths for a particular purpose. However, that purpose may not always be our own. It may have been for their benefit or even another mutual bystander who was simply an observer of the relationship and had something to learn.
I also believe, that when people exit our lives, especially someone who we thought of as a dear friend who chooses to no longer have us share in their lives, it is as one of my wisest friends told me, "to make room for those who are meant to stay".
Some relationships are so toxic for us, but because our bodies and our minds often crave the very thing that can harm us, until we completely detox ourselves from that substance (such as sugar for example), we will continue to choose that relationship either with that food or that person.
However, once we have detoxed and are completely immersed in nothing but the healthiest of relationships and surrounded by those who treasure us and want nothing but the best for us, we will NO LONGER crave those toxic people or other substances that are only temporary fixes for our immediate need for satisfaction. We will choose to go the distance and for people with substance and moral fiber.
So don't worry if you're not quite as shiny as you'd like to be at the moment. We are ALL diamonds in the rough. Embrace life's frictions and secretly smile knowing you will come out shining BRILLIANTLY.
