"The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials." Chinese proverb
What an excellent quote to describe my very concept of "EXFOLIATE YOUR LIFE". We encounter tremendous friction on a daily basis that sometimes can be extremely rough to bare. However, without it, we would not see that brilliant glow from the new life which had room to grow once the old one had been shed.
People are like that as well. Some people come into our lives and exit just as fast as they enter without rhyme or reason. In most cases, we may never know or understand the ultimate purpose for the loss of relationship whether it be by choice or not. I believe that people are meant to cross our paths for a particular purpose. However, that purpose may not always be our own. It may have been for their benefit or even another mutual bystander who was simply an observer of the relationship and had something to learn.
I also believe, that when people exit our lives, especially someone who we thought of as a dear friend who chooses to no longer have us share in their lives, it is as one of my wisest friends told me, "to make room for those who are meant to stay".
Some relationships are so toxic for us, but because our bodies and our minds often crave the very thing that can harm us, until we completely detox ourselves from that substance (such as sugar for example), we will continue to choose that relationship either with that food or that person.
However, once we have detoxed and are completely immersed in nothing but the healthiest of relationships and surrounded by those who treasure us and want nothing but the best for us, we will NO LONGER crave those toxic people or other substances that are only temporary fixes for our immediate need for satisfaction. We will choose to go the distance and for people with substance and moral fiber.
So don't worry if you're not quite as shiny as you'd like to be at the moment. We are ALL diamonds in the rough. Embrace life's frictions and secretly smile knowing you will come out shining BRILLIANTLY.

April 29, 2011 ~ William & Catherine Windsor, Duke & Duchess of Cambridge / Princess Diana's Life Legacy
I was AMAZED by so many disrespectful post regarding the Royal Wedding, including the traditional balcony appearance which began with Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon, from here on out referred to as "Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother", who married Albert, Duke of York, the second son of King George V in 1923, and later became King George VI, as well as the unforgettable first balcony kiss by Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, when he married Lady Diana Spencer, hereafter known to the world as Princess Diana, Princess of Wales in July 1981.
1923, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and King George VI wedding marked the very first filmed royal wedding though silent. In 1947, their daughter, then Princess Elizabeth's wedding to Lieutenant Phillip Mountbatten, who was dubbed "Duke of Edinburgh" the day of the wedding after the ceremony, was the first to feature sound with the video footage. And of' course, who could forget how nearly a billion people watched on live television as Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer married in 1981.
I guess you had to grow up in the era of Princess Diana to appreciate the sentiment of such traditions as the balcony appearance and kiss. Having stood in places like the Abby, St Paul & Edinburgh Castle as they were preparing for the Queen's arrival, (to know that such history that played a part in who I was) was extremely meaningful to a young teen. Therefore to be able to share that with my daughter today, at the same age I was, was something that I hope one day she will be able to share with her children and hopefully help them not be as disrespectful as some of the comments I viewed, stated mostly by the younger generation of today.
Princess Diana changed so much of the definition of "ROYALTY". She took the traditional archaic meaning of "being served" to a life of "service to others". Growing up in the 1980's was a brand new world of fear with an unknown factor called "AIDS". Princess Diana's greatest strength was her compassion in which she fiercely showed, without hesitation, especially at the orphanages and children's hospitals, which she was so frequently noted for holding children with AIDS and caring for patients with leprosy without concern or fear for herself. She brought tremendous support to the International Campaign to ban landmines and brought great visibility to forgotten remaining active landmines, a campaign that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 after her death. I'm certain while she wasn't physically present to share in the glory, although would have done so in her usual manner of grace and humbleness, she certainly was present in spirit with complete joy. The Princess was also notable for her other many charitable acts with various organizations for the elderly, homeless, drug addicted population and youth in need.
One of Princess Diana's pride and joys was her Presidency of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children from 1989. I'd like to share a bit of fascinating history regarding this particular hospital. It first opened it's doors in London at 49 Great Ormond Street on Valentine's Day, 1852, with only ten beds. What has allowed this incredible hospital to grow and save so many children's lives has been it's main benefactor, JM Barrie, the novelist / playwright, who gave ALL rights to "Peter Pan" to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929. Even though the copyright expired in 1987, the UK successfully proposed an Amendment in 1988 that gives the hospital the rights to all royalties.
Though regrettably the monarchy did not embrace Diana's vision and the new path she was independently carving out for herself, it did open up a new world for future monarchs, including her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, who actually were her whole purpose for being so direct in the choices she made, which were so notably different from the ways both she and Charles were raised in their royal lives. In fact, it gave the ability for the first "commoner" to marry a prince so close in proximity to the throne in more than 350 years. Even then the marriage took place in secrecy while the Royal Family was in exile during the revolution between Anne Hyde and the future King James II, who was reluctantly forced to marry Anne by his elder brother, prospective King Charles, II due to the fact that James had seduced Anne, who was a maid of honour to their sister and was now with child. This is the very first time that a Prince, Future King was allowed to fall in love and choose his own bride, even a true commoner without any connections to court. Again, while Princess Diana is not here to share this special day, I have to believe that she stood right next to her son and knew that every tear she shed and for every single tissue that Prince William so infamously handed to her, was worth the pain to see the rainbow that she created for her children to dance under and rejoice in their lifetime and hopefully never endure the sadness she had to.

Mimi Kirk "Defying Gravity Naturally"
Mimi Kirk is a very special woman who I've had the privilege to follow her path and be inspired by for the last year and half. Mimi is originally from Hollywood, California and now resides in the San Diego area. She came into the spot light after winning "PETA's SEXIEST VEGETARIAN OVER 50" only after being entered into the contest by her grand-kids. The clincher is, she wasn't just over 50, she was then almost 71 and now 72 yrs "YOUNG".
Mimi has been living the vegan life style for last 40 years because she doesn't believe in the cruelty of animals and loves living a very healthy life which includes a vegan diet consisting mainly of live foods.Mimi didn't begin this lifestyle until her 30's but remarkably looks as though she has remained there. She has also stated in previous interviews that she feels as though she "has even gotten younger", which in Mimi's case is a wonderful thing, since her boyfriend is quite considerably "chronologically" younger. However, I would guesstimate that she definitely gives him a run for his money. Mimi contributes "lots of protein" to the absence of joint pain, especially when she first wakes in the morning. You can watch Mimi on YouTube such as this following link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TR8FyZ75l4. Mimi is also a brand new recognized author of "Live Raw: The Natural Way to Good Health and Timeless Beauty "
Mimi was also interviewed in the online publication of Eco Beauty Editor Posted on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 titled, "The New Face of Aging", In this article Mimi gave incredible advice on her minimalist view and regimen on beauty routine and products. I believe there are two quotes from this great article that in my opinion (if it's EVER possible) sums up Mimi Kirk. The first being, "As far as looks go, well, I’m not sure all the anti-aging products really can do anything for us. Love what you see in the mirror, appreciate your body as it changes and ages, thank it for all it does for you and you will soon see beauty in yourself regardless of what age you are." Mi Mi Kirk, the second, "We all make decisions from either love or fear, always choose love." Mi Mi Kirk.
I am including a snippet from Mimi's interview with Eco Beauty Editor. You may go to: http://www.ecobeautyeditor.com/2011/04/the-new-face-of-aging/ to view the entire article, which I highly recommend.
"Eat a raw, vegan diet. Stop eating meat, dairy and processed foods. Our bodies can’t process this kind of food. I believe it’s the main cause of disease. Laugh as much as you can. Give and receive love. Don’t hang on to anger and resentment. Forgive yourself and others. Life is too short to stress about anything. Let it all go and trust what comes your way. Look for the good every situation. Smile at yourself in the mirror."
1 Start with a green drink every day. A simple recipe would be apples, celery, cucumber, spinach, and kale leaves. Add a little ginger or lemon. Switch off and get creative, but make sure to include plenty of dark leafy greens.
2 Walk 30–40 minutes daily
3 Deep, deep breaths, at least 30 a day
4 Stretch, stretch, stretch
5 Rent funny movies
"I’m a bath person; I relax in a warm tub daily. When I get out I dry off, slather 100% organic coconut oil all over my body, and in every crevice. I use Dr. Woods Black Soap on my face and his Almond Soap with Shea Butter on my body. They are both liquid. I brush my teeth with Tooth Soap or Toothpaste that contains Neem. I brush my eyebrows down, curl my eyelashes, put some natural blush on my cheeks, a bit of natural lip color, a dash of mascara and off I go. People continually ask me what products I use so I’ve posted them on my website www.youngonrawfood.com they are in the “shop” section. I don’t personally sell these products, but you can order on my page as it goes through Amazon at check-out. I list them for convenience, and make it easy for people to purchase if they want."
Since making a change in lifestyles, habits or decisions can be incredibly difficult and so daunting, that in most cases rather than choosing to take baby steps, we take NO steps at all and continue in the same ill learned behaviors and misguided choices, I believe one of the major "loves" Mimi was speaking of "choosing" in the second quote is love of yourself, your body and love of animals. If our choices come from love, even in baby steps then we are sure to make a positive change. Life is not a sprint. Life is a marathon. We need to be able to go the distance. Unless we change our way of thinking, choices and actions our JOURNEY is sure to end way before our time.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to live with youthful vibrancy, regardless of his or her age?
